Westview Shows Tremendous Growth
We are extremely proud of the growth shown by Westview Students through the Illinois State Board of Education's Interactive School Report Card. Based on several factors, Westview grew from a score of 56 points in 2023 to 77 points in 2024. We are hoping to perform in the Exemplary range in the upcoming spring of 2025!

Westview Chorus Performs at Chicago Wolves Game
Our Music Teacher and Chorus Director Mr. Bill Thoms once again arranged for our 4th and 5th Grade Chorus members to sing a medley of patriotic songs in recognition of Veteran's Day at a recent Chicago Wolves game. Click HERE to see more photos and a few video clips.

Family Game Night

Honoring Veterans
In addition to a lesson about Veterans Day in each of our classrooms, many of our students chose to decorate paper placemats expressing their gratitude for veterans. These were then used at the City of Wood Dale's annual Veteran's Day Breakfast in early November.

Hats Off to Empathy!
Westview students and staff enjoyed a School Spirit Day on October 10th in which we celebrated the theme, "Hats Off to Empathy."
Discussions in Math Class
Students learn best from one another, and math class is no exception. Our students are becoming more flexible in their thinking when they hear about different ways to work with numbers and solve problems!
"Go out and play!"--Westview Playground is Open!
Did you know that the Westview Playground is open for members of the community to enjoy outside of school hours? Our expectation is that students go home after dismissal to check in with parents. But once they have permission from parents, they are welcome to use the Westview playground, basketball hoops, and field after school hours and on weekends. We encourage students to put down devices and meet some friends at Westview to… “Go out and PLAY!

Dear WD7 Families, Community Members & Staff,
The Board continues to adhere to their timeline for identifying the new superintendent. As promised, I am providing all of you with an update regarding the search. Representatives from the search firm (BWP) presented the Superintendent Candidate Profile they developed at the October board meeting last week. Please CLICK HERE to view the superintendent leadership profile. The profile was based on information BWP gathered from the focus groups, surveys and interviews completed over the last month. This profile will be used by BWP to screen candidates to be interviewed by the board. Interviews will take place in December with the goal of hiring and announcing the new superintendent in January.
