Welcome to the online home of Westview Elementary School! We are so glad you are here.
Westview is the proud home to approximately 270 students in third, fourth, and fifth grades, serving families from the wonderful city of Wood Dale, Illinois. Our school is situated in Northeast DuPage County, just four miles west of Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport.
I am excited about starting my 20th year serving the Westview School Community as principal and I continue to be inspired by the dedication our faculty and staff bring to creating a vibrant and supportive learning environment. We are thrilled to welcome our new and returning families and look forward to partnering with you for a successful 2025-26 school year! Our entire staff is committed to working with you to help your child achieve their greatest academic and personal potential.
We maintain high expectations for academic achievement, continuously refining our curriculum to meet the rigor of the Illinois Learning Standards and the Next Generation Science Standards. We are also deeply committed to fostering learning environments that support the social and emotional needs of every Westview Wildcat. This year, we are placing a special emphasis on enhancing the effectiveness of our math instruction. Our goal is to deepen true comprehension by teaching students how to talk about and write about their problem-solving steps. A key part of this approach will involve guiding children to create models with numbers and pictures to demonstrate and explain their mathematical thinking.
Our students have access to a wide range of opportunities that foster creativity and personal growth. Please see the “Clubs/Activities” link in the menu to learn more about our extracurricular programs!
We embrace technology as a powerful tool for learning. All students are provided with a Chromebook and receive engaging instruction on how to use digital resources in a safe, responsible, and effective manner, which is always most successful with the support and guidance of our involved parents.
Families are our most valuable partners, and we encourage you to become involved through our very active Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). All are welcome at PTO meetings, and information about upcoming events is posted on our website. Please click the “PTO Information” link to discover how you can get involved. We are particularly focused on cultivating leadership among our parent volunteers to ensure our annual projects and events continue to enrich the student experience.
